Trawling through the internet, as I do most days, I have found some beautiful spaces. I am sharing these with you as my favourite rooms in April and telling you why I think they work so well.
My favourite dining space
- I do love metal interior doors, and what is better than this? Well, adding the same look to some built in cabinetry. I think this really works and elevates this space to the next level.
- I really like the generous height of the cabinets. The ceilings are high so you can get away with this look and it maintains the right proportions.
- Using a blue grey for the doors is a welcome change from using black and it is a beautiful segway through to the hallway.
My favourite mud room
The appeal of this room for me is in the warmth of the natural timber. I think this is the perfect foil for the grey floor tiles and is a lovely welcoming space.
I really like that the timber trim is darker than the walls as this balances the use of the timber.

My favourite bedroom
- I love the simplicity of this room. The look of it goes so beautifully with the country setting.
- I am also a succour for a plaid blanket and I think that this one finishes the room perfectly. The bed looks comfy and welcoming without being over styled.
- The use of the V groove panelling on the walls and ceilings is very effective for this country look.
- The flooring is nicely understated and the simple desk with that lovely view is perfect. This room would make a great guest bedroom.

My favourite dining nook
- I do love a dining nook, particularly one that is located by a picture window.
- This one works perfectly and the appeal for me here is the colour palette. The statement artwork is beautifully placed here and works so well with the collection of cushions. The vase of dried hydrangeas adds a richness without being overpowering. Simple black chairs and an overhead pendant complete the look.

My favourite kitchen
- There is lots to love about this kitchen. Firstly, the mid tone herringbone timber flooring suits the style of this kitchen perfectly.
- I absolutely love the marble. It is a stunning design without being too busy – just busy enough to add interest to the simple kitchen.
- The soft greige tone of the cabinets is subtle and understated and is a lovely partner to the black island bench and oven.
- The classic range hood completes the look perfectly. A really gorgeous space.

My favourite living room
- If you like formal living rooms, then this one is perfect. It isn't a TV room, but it is a gorgeous place just to sit and relax.
- My favourite part of this room is the dark cabinetry either side of the fireplace, which in turn is dark too. The design of the mantlepiece suits the formal panelling and the whole look of the wall is balanced and calming, yet full of interest.
- The gorgeous oversized and nicely styled coffee table completes the look perfectly.
