As usual, and I am sure like many of you, I have been down the rabbit warren of Instagram and Pinterest and my head is full of gorgeous rooms. I have a few of my favourite rooms in November to show you, together with why I think these rooms are particularly good.
Favourite Living Room in November
Why I love this living room
- This is in fact a showroom from the very talented Design identities Judy Pereira and Jess Madgwick at Verandah House. However I have included it as I love the use of colour and would be very happy with a cosy living room like this one.
- The use of texture in the room is perfect, from the natural soft blue wallpaper to the sisal carpet and rattan accents. The combinations of textures in a room are just as important as the partnership of colours, but this is an often overlooked design detail.
- The painted blue cabinetry is a beautiful focal point in the room and I really like that the backing is in the wall colour as it prevents the colour from being too dominant and overwhelming.
- The Walter G cushions are stunning. These are absolute favourites of mine and they really elevate the look of the space.
My favourite kitchen and breakfast room
Why I love this kitchen and breakfast room
- This area is a masterclass on how to use whites and neutrals. Notice that the whites used are very muted and this creates a very calming space, If you placed a bright white next to the ones used in this room, they would look really quite dark and you would initially think that the whites would just have too much depth and colour. However, if you don't use bright whites, then the overall look is just one of a lovely off white. With the cabinetry in a slightly darker neutral and a mid tone splashback tile and brown timber for the flooring and furniture, the palette is just perfect. Calm, rich and very elegant.
- I really like the glass door through to the Butler's pantry. It opens up the space, while still closing off the messier area of the kitchen. With the same profile of the windows, the effect is very nice.
- A round dining table always ensures a lovely convivial space. The chairs look so comfortable which makes this a lovely room to linger in. With beautiful styling, this really is one of my favourite rooms.
My favourite dining room in November
Why I love this dining room
- This room is fresh, fresh, fresh!! Just lovely and bright and cheerful. I do love to see colour used well. For those who prefer white and neutral spaces, at first look this room may be overwhelming. However, the wallpaper is fresh, but fairly muted and is just an accent in the room. I love to use colour with wainscoting and other panelled walls as you achieve an impact without the look becoming too much. This is the perfect solution for those of you who love colour, but are hesitant about using it.
- If you look at the view outside, this room really mimics the colour palette of the area. The texture too in the rattan pendants and dining chairs works with the natural environment too.
- The table has been beautifully styled and the cushions along the window seat are perfect.
- I do love a large dining table that has corner legs. It means that nobody has to sit with a table leg or pedestal in their way and you gain the maximum amount of space around the table. Those rattan chairs will need a slimline cushion though. The only small downside I can see to such a beautiful room.

My favourite bedroom in November
What I love about this bedroom
- I always like anything from Walter G and I absolutely love the fabric of these very elegant curtains. I think they are stunning. I love the curtain rod and the simple elegant pinch pleat that has been used for the heading.
- The blue bedside table is just gorgeous. The use of colour here is perfect. Of course, it is a blue room with the curtains, rug and furniture, however as the bed and walls are neutral, the balance is just right.
- A beautiful calm space that is just lovely.
My favourite bathroom in November
What I love about this bathroom
- While all the other rooms so far have been colourful and light and airy, I thought I would include this very sultry bathroom to show you how simply gorgeous a black background can be.
- Not all the room is dark, so this isn't a colour drenching design, but where the brass accents have been used, the black background is absolutely stunning. You don't really notice it too much as it is simply just that, a background. What you do see though are the beautiful brass elements; the light switch, lights, towel rails, tapware, shelving and pots for greenery.
- Coupled with an elegant freestanding bath, a stunning mosaic floor and beautiful marble, this is a real standout design.

My favourite hallway in November
Why I love this hallway
- This month I have selected a smaller hallway to show you as this is probably more reflective of the type of space that we have to work with. Firstly, what drew my eye to this lovely entrance was the wallpaper that has been used above the picture rail. As with the dining room above, the wallpaper is just an accent as it has been used with some rather lovely white painted panelling. It is a fabulous focal point, but as it is just an accent, it doesn't dominate the space. It has the effect of drawing your eye to the stunning ceiling, while also making the space intimate and welcoming.
- I really like that the inside of the front door has been painted in black. Notice that it is just the door and not the architraves. This creates a great focal point in a hallway, particularly where an entrance door opens into a living area.
- I love the large sideboard which is a great place for storage near the front door and also a lovely opportunity to be creative with styling.
- The artworks, mirror and lighting are all perfect. A really lovely welcoming hallway.

My Favourite Laundry in November
Why I love this laundry
- I love the storage in this room. Isn't it amazing? Presumably the washing machine and dryer are on the opposite wall, but wouldn't it be great to have a room where you could get so well organised?
- There is something about piles of perfect fluffy white towels that I find very appealing. I think this is what really drew my eye to this room!
- The soft grey in the joinery is perfect with the brass accents and marble benchtop. The v groove panelling adds texture, just as the rattan baskets do. A really lovely, fresh laundry room.
