I love white interiors, particularly for a classic I love white interiors, particularly for a classic coastal scheme, but they do need help with the inclusion of different textures and some colour.

This room from @homestoloveau showcases this perfectly. How amazing is the pineapple lamp?

I love everything about this room. What do you think?

What a pretty find from @port.stay cottage via @co What a pretty find from @port.stay cottage via @countrystylemag.

I love the simplicity of the white on white scheme with Colorbond Shale Grey gutter and roof. Understated and relaxed - this looks a perfect place to visit.

Cool yellow, almost mustard tones work beautifully Cool yellow, almost mustard tones work beautifully with soft, cool browns and white. Include some gold metallics to complete the palette.

Look to nature for some fabulous colour schemes. This could be the basis for a textile design or a fabulous artwork to bring richness and sunny accents to a room.

I love this pretty dining room @Bridge.street.cott I love this pretty dining room @Bridge.street.cottage via @historicstays. Just fresh white with dark timber and uplifting flowers in a vase and artworks. Simple, but oh so effective.
A very pretty place to stay in Stanthorpe.

I'm off to Stanthorpe in a couple of weeks - not staying here unfortunately - but it will be on my list for next time!

People tend to either love or hate a dark colour p People tend to either love or hate a dark colour palette. Those of us who do like them though are often too afraid to use them and the alternative of a light white or neutral scheme just seems an easier option.

Certainly, this can be true but often it isn’t the case of selecting either a light or a dark scheme for the whole house, I believe that there are certain areas of a home that are ideally suited to an intimate and moody colour scheme whilst other areas benefit from crisp white finishes.

Always consider the MOOD you want to create, the ASPECT of the space and WHEN you usually use the area. This will help you to determine whether you can get away with a dark colour palette, which when used properly, will inject personality and style and will be a place you will gravitate to.

Do you like the idea of this for part of your home?

I love the black cabinetry set into the crisp white wall as it goes so well with the rattan sofa. I am in love with everything about this gorgeous space. Do you love it too?

Did you know that orange is the social colour of t Did you know that orange is the social colour of the spectrum? Lovers of orange are happy souls who love to get out and meet new people.

This isn't a colour that we use a lot for interiors, but the odd splash can look stunning. Think of a large bowl of oranges in either a statement white bowl or a large deep earthy brown platter.

Some sunny magnolias brighten up a space perfectly.

Perhaps give it a go and add some orange to your colour scheme for some fun and vibrancy.

Windows that are properly dressed make a room comp Windows that are properly dressed make a room complete. Elegant curtains finish a room perfectly and they are practical too, keeping out the summer heat and the winter cold. BUT there is just one thing that you cannot afford to get wrong.

I see it too often - beautiful fabric, the right heading, a great colour, but the rod or curtain track is fitted too close to the architrave. This is OK if the architrave is at the ceiling height, but if there is space above the window, the curtains MUST be hung closer the ceiling so that you get an elegant drop.

Keep your colour palette simple for a calm bedroom Keep your colour palette simple for a calm bedroom scheme. This doesn't mean that it will be boring.

Layers of soft neutrals with a strong contrast in colour and tone that includes a mix of different textures will give you a scheme that has some complexity without being overwhelming.

This creates a colour scheme that is calming and understated, but not without interest.
