I must confess that the sentence mustard and green colour palette doesn't fill me with excitement. However, that is until I see the imagery. I think it's a problem with the word mustard which conjures up a dirty, yellow brown. In fact the colour is a rich warm yellow that is much easier to work with in interiors than a pure saturated yellow, which although uplifting, is just too bright. By adding some earthy richness to what is the happiest colour in the spectrum, you actually end up with a really beautiful interior colour.
Although we associate the colour mustard with yellow, it is a combination of the secondary colours of green and orange. This is why it complements green interiors so well. Green is a favourite colour of mine, in all its guises. Even if a room just has some stunning greenery, for me the look is complete.
I am going to show you how you can partner these beautiful rich colours together in a decorating scheme.
A mustard and green colour palette
Not everyone wants a neutral sofa. In fact I love an emerald green sofa, which seem to be popular at the moment. However, if you lean more towards neutrals, but just want some injection of colour, a rich mustard toned sofa might be just the ticket for you. Not for the faint hearted, but you can't deny it is rich and injects lots of personality and warmth into a space.
Partnered with a soft green for the shelving and fresh clean white for the walls, this is a great combination.
If you are overwhelmed by this, you might like this idea below. A predominantly dark scheme with just small accents of mustard and greenery on the table. With the pendant in warm bronze tones, I think this look is stunning. The beauty for me with using mustard and green together is that even as an accent, these colours add a beautiful natural element to the space.

You can add some baskets in mustard or some letter magnets, which is a great idea for a colourful children's room.
Many gold tones and natural rope colours are the colour mustard. You can see below how they make the perfect partner to some Eucalyptus.
